Waterskiing, Windsurfing and Sailing

Navarre is a landlocked region but it has various reservoirs where the pursuit of water sports is common throughout the year, although especially so in the warmer months and when the wind is favourable. The most frequented places are the Yesa and Alloz reservoirs, located in the central zone, although there are smaller ones such as La Morea, on the outskirts of Pamplona.

Despite the fact that all three sports have water and wind as common denominators, each discipline has its own characteristics. There are different, specialised types of waterskiing : classical, wakeboarding, ski racing and l ine skiing . The difficulty of windsurfing depends on the figures being made. Lastly, sailing , which has taken quite a hold in Navarre, presents different options according to the size of the craft; the main difficulties in this case are in knowing the boat, the technique and coordination between the crew.
