Navarre is the Iberian Peninsula’s gateway to the Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago (also called St James Way). Along its 240km, many of Navarre’s artistic treasures as well as its natural and cultural diversity are revealed to the visitor, on a route that the ancient kingdom's monarch Sancho III ‘el Mayor’ promoted as official in the 11th century and that took the name of the French Route.

Two major routes cross the Kingdom of Navarre: the one that comes into the region from the Pyrenees along the legendary Roncesvalles and the one from Aragon, which travels through Sangüesa.
